The maker

Collected by designer Thomas O'Brien.

TOB Aero is the collection of designer Thomas O'Brien, who thinks of himself first as a collector. Drawn from a lifetime of looking and finding, it gathers treasures from his own homes and from Aero, his celebrated New York store, into warm, characterful pieces made to be used and to bring everyday pleasure.

His eye moves freely from ancient to modern, English Georgian to Jazz Age American, the garden outside to the housewares within. Rendered in natural materials, from carved and turned wood to softly glazed ceramic, each piece is made to be styled and grouped, with natural variations in grain and glaze that give it its own character.

Good to know
Questions, answered before you order.

The collection spans natural materials, from carved and turned wood to glazed ceramic. Because pieces are handmade, slight variations in grain, glaze, and tone are normal and part of their character.

Care varies by material. Hand-wash wooden pieces and dry promptly, oiling occasionally to nourish the grain. Hand-wash ceramic to preserve the glaze and avoid sudden temperature changes.
