One pair of hands

Each piece built start to finish by maker Rob Cortes.

Solid hardwood

Oak and walnut throughout. No veneers, no particleboard.

Hand-finished

Finished by hand to bring out the grain, so no two are alike.

Built to last

Traditional joinery made to be handed down, not replaced.

The maker

Heirloom pieces from one pair of hands.

Rob Cortes grew up in his father's New York City workshop, learning to read grain and cut joinery before he could drive. That apprenticeship became Grove & Anchor, a small studio devoted to the natural beauty of oak, ash, and walnut.

Every piece is made to order, one at a time, as a deliberate alternative to mass-produced furniture. The result is furniture with the weight, warmth, and longevity of something you'll keep and pass on.
