Fifty years of craft

A design house refining natural-material furniture since 1974.

The maker

Woven natural materials, fifty years in the making.

Palecek began in 1974, when Allan and Nancy Palecek returned from a trip through Asia with a few woven rattan baskets and an idea. Fifty years on, that idea has grown into a design house known for furniture, lighting, and decor built from natural materials: rattan, abaca, jute, teak, and woven wicker.

Every piece is made from woven natural fibers and hardwood, then finished at Palecek's Northern California workshop. The result is furniture that marries old-world weaving traditions with a distinctly modern point of view, made to be lived with for years.

Because each piece is made from natural materials, slight variation in tone, grain, and weave is part of the character, so no two are exactly alike.
