Gray Gardens Plant Studio began when artist Danya Ahmed, living in a village high in the mountains of Lebanon, couldn't find planters worthy of the landscape around her and started making her own. What began as a personal project became a studio, and in 2021 she brought her work to the United States.
Each piece is cast by hand from glass-fiber-reinforced cement, a material both raw and refined. The hand-forming process leaves subtle variations in shape, finish, and texture, so no two are exactly alike, equally at home indoors or out.
